Somewhere

This is one of my favorites that I’ve done in the class, this still is a shot from my favorite movie “Scott Pilgrim vs The World”. While making this I took two different shots, one more complex and one more simple. Unfortunately, the complex didn’t end up working out, so this was the one used instead. For this frame, I actually took out Michael Cera, who was standing in the position I’m in, and recreated the background to make it seem like he was never there in the first place. Then I did some lighting effects and placed myself in there, added some shadow to the wall, and did some scaling. Now it looks almost like I’m a part of the movie!

Animation

After many long nights, I have finally finished this animation. This was the longest time I spent on any of these projects, which makes sense given that there are over 600 frames of animation. I wanted to make this piece cohesive with the music I made, so the bass guitar was very fitting for me. The mask was to make this video feel more animated and detached from reality.

Portfolio

I had such a great time in this class and learned a lot that will help me in my career. These new software like Photoshop and Illustrator will be integral to my films moving forward.

Audio

The music I created for the animation was super fun to make. I made about 3 or 4 different prototypes before I settled on this one. I wanted to make a more rock and funky beginning section, a nostalgic and melancholy middle section, and a somber end. This was to show how we forget the things that are important to us over time. I also wanted the bass guitar to be the main focus, that being also the main focus of the animation itself.
